About the event
Farm to Fork 101 and Eden Restaurant have started a dinner series that is meant to connect guests with their food, their farmer and their chef. Our third edition in this series has us visitingGrindstone Farm and Freedom Rains Farms in Pulaski, NY.
From Grindstone:
We are farmers committed to sustainability. Grindstone Farm, LLC. has been a NOFA-NY Certified Organic grower of fruits and vegetables since 1988. In addition, we raise non-certified, “all natural, pasture raised, free range” livestock. As our marketing and distribution capacity has grown, we've added products grown by other local farmers. We have helped other farms become organic. We know our customers want to eat year-round - and our employees need a paycheck year-round - so we decided to supplement with “non-local” organic food from a wholesale source as needed. This combination works for us. We hope it works for you too. We are committed to providing source identified sustainable food to customers, and a sustainable living to ourselves and our local farm partners. Thank you for supporting community agriculture.
From Freedom Rains:
Freedom Rains Farm is a small family owned and operated NOFA certified organic farm in Pulaski. We are committed to eco-friendly, organic agriculture for the health of our soils, water, and our bodies, as well as local food accessibility within our CNY community.
It is our pleasure to invite 20 guests to come visit the farm while enjoying a four course dinner made exclusively by Chef/Owner Rich Strub of Eden Restaurant. We will be practicing social distancing so that everyone will be able to sit 6' apart but can still enjoy the whole experience of eating farm to table while sitting among farmers, chefs and the beauty of the farm.
We will be offering four courses with an optional wine pairing.
There will be a social hour from 5-6 pm for everyone to enjoy a stroll around the farm. Try some special appetizers and enjoy a farm fresh adult beverage. (alcohol is not included in price but will be available for purchase). The dinner will start promptly at 6 pm. We will connect and hear stories from the chef himself and about how his restaurant has adapted to the ever changing industry. We will also have a chance to hear stories from both farms and connect with them as they speak about how they work together with many other farms to serve their community and others. We will also hear from the Owner of Farm to Fork 101 on the importance of community action and food. Lastly, everyone will have a chance to watch the chef in action and speak with him directly while he is preparing your dishes. So many great things to check out.
